Founded by: Tina Deroche Fryer and David Shaw.

The Rotary Club of La Jolla and the Rotary Club of Tijuana, Mexico, jointly support students in poor districts of Tijuana who have demonstrated superior academic and leadership performance and who wish to continue their schooling through 12th grade. While continuing their regular public schooling, the students meet weekly in a Scholars Lab in Tijuana.

Emphasis is given to instruction on computer usage, English language proficiency, mentoring by fellow Rotarians, and the importance of networking. The Program’s success helps the students to graduating from high school and continuing on to college.
