Volunteering: Family Breakfast at La Jolla Family House
Oct 24, 2026 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM

Dear Rotarians,

Please join us on Saturday, October 24th, as we host a family breakfast at La Jolla Family House for approximately 60 guests.

The Family Houses at UC San Diego Health provide a “home away from home” for families of patients receiving critical or long-term care at UC San Diego Health Hospital. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together, serve breakfast, and bring some warmth and support to families going through challenging times.

Breakfast: 8:30–9:30 AM
Volunteer arrival: 8:00 AM
Location: 3787 Miramar Street, La Jolla, CA 92037

We need 10 volunteers to help us set up, serve breakfast, and clean up afterward. Please let us know if you can volunteer and join us for this special morning.

Looking forward to serving together!

Bests,
Ellie Hatami

Annual League House Holiday Luncheon & Volunteer Opportunity

Thursday, December 3, 2026 | 12:00 PM
Location: League House Dining Room, La Jolla

Join us for one of our cherished Rotary holiday traditions as we bring joy, friendship, and holiday cheer to the senior residents of League House!

This year's celebration will feature a festive Snow & Snowmen theme, a special holiday luncheon, poinsettias for the residents, and a raffle featuring donated gifts and prizes.

With 29 senior residents currently living at League House, we're looking for Rotary members to help make this gathering especially meaningful.

How You Can Participate:

  • Wednesday, December 2 – Decorating: Help transform the League House dining room into a winter wonderland.

  • Thursday, December 3 – Holiday Luncheon at Noon: Volunteer to serve lunch, visit with residents, and assist with the celebration.

  • Donate a Raffle Prize: Contributions such as $20 gift certificates to local La Jolla businesses, gift baskets, or other thoughtful prizes are greatly appreciated.

This annual event is a wonderful reminder that sometimes the greatest gift we can give is our time, kindness, and companionship.

Please RSVP With Penny Shurtleff and let us know how you'd like to participate. Additional event details and invitations will be shared in early November.

We look forward to celebrating the season together and making this a memorable afternoon for our League House neighbors!
